The Fire Piston is one of the most exotic ways to make fire. It uses the principal of compressing air to create heat to ignite tinder. Each Fire Piston comes complete with Fire Piston, supply of Tinder Fungus, Char Cloth, Extra cotton gasket material, jute tinder and instructions.
We carry only the highest quality Fire Pistons currently made - WE GUARANTEE THAT!

In fact, Les Stroud of "Survivorman" chose OUR O-ring Buffalo Horn Fire Piston  to use on his Alaska Adventure (Discovery Channel 2007 season)

We now offer two versions, the traditional cotton string gasket and the rubber o-ring gasket.  The Cotton String gasket is the traditional way these Fire Pistons were made and used.  The cotton string gasket will need to be re-wrapped every 25 or so fires (easy to follow instructions are included).  The O-Ring gasket makes changing gaskets easy.  Just slip on a new rubber o-ring when the old one wears out.

Fire Pistons make a GREAT GIFT for a Boy Scout obtaining "Eagle Scout" status.

NOTE: See "Tips on using your Fire Piston" at bottom of page
