Sotol Sets

If you are a beginner a Sotol Hand Drill set is the set you want! Sotol,
a desert plant, is by far the easiest material to
make a Hand drill fire. As an added bonus,
the fireboards are made of Seep Willow to increase
your chances of getting a fire on your very first
try!
The 26" Sotol Stalk Hand Drill Set will
make your first fire even easier since with a
longer stalk you have more time to turn it in
the fireboard before you have to reposition your
hands. The 28" is even longer (and harder to
get).

This set will give you a wide diversity of
stalks allowing you to master the Hand Drill
fire making method the multi stalk set is what you
want to consider. The teasel will give you the
easiest fire out of the 3 while the Mullein will
require a little more speed and downward
pressure. The cattail will be the straightest
stalk but due to its fragile nature will require
less pressure and more finesse to create a coal.
