The Flint Fire Bar
will produce
2400oF sparks, capable of igniting jute
tinder, paper towels or natural tinders such as
cattail down or Dogbane fluff with just one spark.
The Candlewood Base will give you a solid
means to hold the Fire Stick in use however the
candle wood can also be used as an emergency
tinder to either ignite wet wood or keep a fire
burning long enough to dry out wet tinder. Since
Candlewood has a high degree of wax-like resins in
it the wood will always remain dry, even in the
rain
The Tooth
Striker provides the best material for making
sparks with on the "Flint". As a "survival"
application this striker can be used to carve
notches for dead-fall traps and spring snares.
The lanyard
holding the Striker is made from 550
"Parachute" Cord. The actual length of the
lanyard is 10" however the 550 cord is made up of
7 stands of 60 lb test cords inside the OD Green
sheath. Simply remove the outer sheath, tie the
individual lines together with a sheet bend knot
and you will have over 5 feet of 60 lb test line
suitable for lashing or use as a fishing line
There is also
over 5 feet of Jute tinder wrapped around
the handle. If you need quick tinder to start a
fire simply remove the Jute, Fuzz it apart and
make it into a "birds nest" tinder bundle, and
strike a spark into it. INSTANT FIRE!
