Gransfors
Bruks
The Gransfors
Bruks Scandinavian Forest Axe is a
professional axe
for those who want to limb a felled tree in
traditional Broad Axe, way. Forged to a thin,
curved bit and sharpened to make it suitable for
cutting branches of fresh, resinous wood, spruce
or pine. Has a 25" hickory handle, 3½" face and
a 2-lb. head.
. It comes with
a grain-leather sheath and a
20 Year
Guarantee!
A FREE 36 page Axe book is also included
with each purchase.
This is the
ultimate in Survival Axes, in fact its the one we
use on out Winter Survival Trips as well as all
of the other Maine Guides we know!. It is not a "mini-ax
with a "folding handle" but instead, a true
"traditional" Axe you can bet your life on in a
REAL Survival Situation. It is hand-made in Sweden
since 1909 by a family owned and operated
blacksmith operation (See story below). It's features include:
- High carbon steel blade forged to a thin, curved
bit and sharpened to make it suitable for
cutting branches in fresh, resinous wood, spruce
or pine (blade is easy to sharpen and holds an edge well)
- Extra long 25" handle that is long enough to allow
powerful chopping but not too long so it will fit into a backpack or pack
basket.
- Practical for splitting applications ranging
from cutting small-diameter "limbwood" for fuel to building a
full scale winter shelter in Maine
for temperatures of -30oF.
- It comes with a traditional "grain-leather"
sheath and a free 36 page "Ax Booklet" ($8.95
value).
