Only 30 seconds of
horizontal shaking after you give it an initial

Considerations Before Buying a
Batteryless Flashlight
The development of the
batteryless flashlight has ended the all too
familiar situation of reaching for a flashlight
in an emergency to find out the batteries are
dead. However be aware that all
batteryless flashlights may need to be shaken
for 3 minutes to reestablish a totally dead
light its initial charge.
Our
Larger and Medium sizes have a "capacitor"
(an electrical device that
 stores
electricity) in it to store the electricity
generated by the magnet and coil. The good
point about these flashlight is that 100
years from now it will still work as good as it
does today since there is NOTHING to wear out or
go "dead". The down side is that once it’s
totally discharged (in about 4-6 weeks on
non-use) it takes an initial “AS FAST AS YOU
CAN” shaking of 3 minutes to recharge the
capacitor. This 3 minute recharging will
not be necessary if you use the light frequently
and give a a 30 second shaking once a week).
Our Mini Size
light still has the magnet and coil to
generate electricity but it also has a lithium
battery
in it to hold any charge you give it. The good
thing is that a year from now it will still hold
most its charge and you
will have instant light (without the 3 minute
recharging of the capacitor), the bad thing is
that when the lithium battery goes dead (in 7-10
years) the flashlight will probably not work
anymore.
WHICH ONE IS BETTER?
Neither one is "better" than the other. If
you will not mind the 3 minute shaking if the
light lays unused for 6 months the Large or
Medium ones is probably the one you want.
If you insist on instant light even after 6
months of a year on non-use...the Mini one is
the one you want.
Tips for a
Brighter Light
Getting a brighter light
out of your flashlight is easy and depends on 2
things:
1. How long you shake it
2. How fast you shake it
Faster is better and "as fast as you can shake
it and as long as you care to shake it" is even
better yet if you want to maximize your lights
performance. You can not "over charge" or
"over shake" any of our lights.
Another tip is that shaking
the flashlight horizontally (left and right)
will product a quicker charge than shaking in
vertically (up and down)
